Narra Studio
Narra Studio is a studio and shop devoted to Filipino dress, adornment, and cultural continuity. We offer Filipiniana, Barong, and artisan jewelry. Shop everyday Filipiniana essentials, personalize your fit, or collaborate on a custom piece with thoughtful, one-on-one attention.
Founded in 2019, we opened our Manhattan brick-and-mortar studio in 2024—the first of its kind in New York dedicated to Filipiniana and Barong, complete with on-site tailoring and customization services. The studio offers one-on-one fittings, small-batch pieces, and a space to connect with heritage through clothing and craft.
We believe that clothing is a way of remembering, reclaiming, and reimagining who we are. From ancestral silhouettes to contemporary interpretations, our work honors tradition while embracing the evolving expressions of Filipino identity.
Whether you are reconnecting with your roots or discovering them for the first time, we welcome you.
The Founder
Narra Studio was founded by Katte Geneta, an artist, weaver, and dressmaker. A former museum director, she brings a curator’s eye and an artist’s discipline to garment construction. She holds a master’s degree in museum studies from Harvard and studied inclusive patternmaking, tailoring, and alterations at the Fashion Institute of Technology.
Deeply devoted to the traditional and old ways of making, Katte has trained across fiber arts—weaving, hand spinning, embroidery, knitting, crochet, and hand sewing—grounding her work in material knowledge and dedicated practice.
