Handwoven in Abra using traditional Abel weaving techniques passed down through Itneg and Tingguian weaving communities, this Filipiniana butterfly sleeve bolero brings structured, gathered shoulders to a cropped, open-front silhouette.

WHAT IS BINAKOL?
Binakol (also spelled binakael) is a traditional weaving pattern that uses straight lines to create the illusion of curves, spirals, and movement, sometimes with an optical, almost dizzying effect. The name comes from the Ilocano "bumakel," roughly "to form a circle." Traditionally, the swirling pattern was believed to confuse and ward off evil spirits, protecting the wearer.

Most Filipiniana and Barong fabrics have little to no stretch, and fit can vary depending on the cut, fabric, and how you prefer to wear your clothes. If you're between sizes or prefer a little more ease, we generally recommend sizing up.

HOW TO MEASURE

For the most accurate fit:

Measure over the undergarments you plan to wear with the garment.
If possible, have someone else take your measurements.
Keep the measuring tape comfortably snug, not tight.
For bust/chest, waist, and hips, keep the tape level and parallel to the floor.
